New Toy for Daddy

Do-Daddy gave us his old lawn mower and Mary Margo LOVES it. She calls it "Daddy's Tractor". She helped mow the grass today.

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW

2 years old and three snow days! That's a record. Of course, we played in the snow on Friday with everyone else in the State of Alabama. Willie played with us too. It was his first time to see snow and he didn't know what to think about it. He pounced around in it like he was chasing something. Mary Margo enjoyed it. She threw snow balls. Once she figured out to pick up the snow with her mittens on. It was a little difficult! Then we built a snow man and climbed around in the garden boxes.

Trying to catch snow in her mouth.

Sliding down the slide! We had to go in after this slide because she busted at the bottom and was covered in mud. Oops!

She's got the Smarts

Reading to her baby doll in the car ride back home after Christmas

Reading before Bed

Reading with Aunt Mandy "No more monkeys jump on 'da bed!"

It is no secret that Mary Margo loves to read!  She always wants to sit in your lap and read books.  We read at night before we go to bed and every night she brings a stack of books for us to read together.  (She is only suppose to pick two, but somehow it always multiplies to four or six).  Just last week, she crawled up in her Daddy's lap with her large stack of books and they began to read.  Dusty read the first sentence and then Mary Margo chimed in with the second sentence.  WOW!  We were shocked!  She did it throughout the whole book.  Since then, I have been listening closer when she reads to her babies and she is "reading" the books to her babies too.  She is telling them about what is going on in the book.  It is the sweetest thing ever to watch her and listen to her in her little language that is all her own.

She is also remembering books too.  One night in the bath tub, she started singing brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?  Then proceeded to go through a few animals and the teacher that is mentioned in the book.

She can sing too!  She can sing Jesus Loves Me!  I sing it to her at night while we rock and she says to me in her sweet little whisper "Sing Jesus, Mommy"

I can't express in words how fulfilling it is to watch her grow and learn and become a little person.  I am sure this is normal 2 year old development but we think it is amazing!

Christmas time is Here Again

Mary Margo was not scared at all of Santa.  She continues to tell everyone that she sat in his lap and he gave her a candy cane.

Posing next to the tree!  This is one outfit I made for the season.  Hopefully we can wear it again next year.

Enjoying some eggnog at the Wrapsody Christmas Party.  Maybe a little too much

Playing with the nativity set and learning all the people.

What fun we are having this year for Christmas.  Mary Margo is taking it all in and learning new things everyday.  She knows every person and animal in the nativity, she has seen santa, and she has tasted eggnog for the first time.
