Moving on Up....

Since we didn't find out the sex of the baby it was kinda hard to plan and decorate a nursery. So all that crazy decorating energy was focused on Mary Margo and her BIG SISTER ROOM. Dusty did an amazing job with the walls, trim, and new closets and I did an amazing job with the bedding and decor. We are still working a little on details. But it will all come together eventually.

I made the bedding out of fabrics I found at hawthornethreads.com I made a million little yoyo's and stictched them onto a white spread I found at Target!

This bird was the inspiration for the whole room! I got it at, the Villager, a shop right down from Wrapsody. I love these birds and every time I walk by the store I want to go in and buy another one.

I found this tree decal on etsy.com. One of my FAVORITE websites! And the bookshelf is from Target!

Potterybarnkids.com how great are you! The wall color, rug and this beautiful chandelier all came from pottery barn kids. LOVE IT!

Mommy's favorite part of the big sister room......the fact that all the big toys are now in the bedroom and not all over my living room and sewing room! YAY!!! Of course, now the living room is full of baby bassinets, swings, etc.

Broadway Babies

Mary Margo enjoyed her first year of dance this year with Ms. Paula Nix at Nix Dance Studio here in Auburn. She has been taking tap and ballet since September and the recital was last Sunday afternoon. Of course we took with our friend, Francie. Both girls did an excellent job!! Unfortunately we did not get a great video of the dances. The following are pics of dance rehearsal and the recital.

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Let the Easter Festivities Begin!

We started yesterday with our first Egg Hunt of the weekend at school. Mary Margo and all her classmates ran wild across the playground scouring for easter eggs full of goodies. Mary Margo still went at her own little "Mary Margo Speed" of doing things. In other words, she wasn't in a hurry. But she got plenty of eggs and plenty of chocolate.

I remember back to the first hunt at school when she was around 18 months. She, again, was going at "her speed". She would pick up an egg and want to open it immediately to see what was in it. Needless to say, that year we came home with about 5 eggs. So we did much better this year. This year we got home with a basket FULL. And once the basket was full she clearly told me that was ENOUGH and she was ready to go home. About 5 minutes into the hunt. We have the Auburn City hunt today at 11. Over 30,000 eggs! WOW! Can't wait!

Enough really is enough when you consider every one of these eggs are filled with a reese cup or m&m's. Seriously, way to go parents for stuffing the eggs with the GOOD STUFF! Because, you know we are all guilty of sneaking a few reese's for ourselves. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch. Well, maybe mine were the exception because they were filled with stickers and not candy! But the other parents can thank me for that later.

And here is Mary Margo and her BFF Jayme! Aren't they adorable!! Every day we ask Mary Margo who she played with at school and every day she says Jayme. She talks about her non stop. I talked with Jayme's mom about it and she said that Jayme does the same thing. She said she calls Mary Margo on her play phone every night. SO CUTE!

Family, Friends, and some Food

Mary Margo wanted to be a photographer yesterday and take some pictures. So I didn't object, gave her some direction on the correct buttons to push and let her go. And here is what we got.

Don't be fooled, these next few are the best pictures out of the whole bunch. It may look like a bad picture of the kitchen floor. But it is a photo of Pay Pay. You ask, "who is Pay Pay?" Pay Pay is Mary Margo's first imaginary friend. And here is how this picture took place.

"Ok, where is Pay Pay?", Mommy

"Right there" As she points to the spot on the floor

Then she starts talking to Pay Pay -

"Ok Pay Pay stand right here on this spot and say cheese"

You may think that this is a another picture of Pay Pay, but this is a picture of Jackie and Johnny. More imaginary friends. They are standing right there in the middle of the shot next to the dishwasher. Jackie and Johnny are Pay Pay's friends. They are always together and spend a lot of time at the doctor or the hospital because they have booboo's.

This would be another picture of Pay Pay but, according to Mary Margo, she is laughing in this picture.

I share this blog because this little girl is a constant source of entertainment in our world. Her imagination is SO BIG and a day doesn't go by that we don't talk about Pay Pay, Jackie and Johnny. They are her buddies. She is usually bossing them around as she plays school or they are at the doctor or the hospital. Pay Pay eats with us some nights. And occasionally Pay Pay gets blamed for things Mary Margo does.

Is it crazy to have imaginary friends...I don't know. I never had one. I think it is normal at this stage in her life. But I do know that one day these three little friends will be a memory. We will talk and laugh about them as a past moment in Mary Margo's life. So for now, I embrace them as a part of our family too! If she is still talking to them when she goes to college....I will worry.

Dodaddy and the Wagon Train 2011

For the past two years, my Dad, aka Do Daddy, has ridden in the Alabama wagon train. They start their ride in north Alabama and ride to Montgomery. This ride takes a week to complete. Lucky us they come to Wetumpka and stop for lunch. So we make the trip, in car of course, to meet up with Do Daddy and all the other riders for a short visit. Mary Margo thinks the world of her DoDaddy and the fact that he rides horses makes him even cooler.

This year she got a special treat. As Do Daddy rode by he stopped and picked her up and let her ride with him for a little bit. She was beside herself with excitement. By next year, she will have her own horse and ride along side Do Daddy. Just kidding, but I am sure that her and Do Daddy would love that.

Big Sister and Baby Hall

Before I was pregnant, I never was a fan of these Maternity Pictures. I just really didn't (and still don't) understand why you want pictures of your naked belly.

Well, my mind was changed, of course with the help of this precious little girl that is about to be a big sister and no longer my baby. (She will ALWAYS be MY BABY) But to her she is becoming the "Big Sister" and gets very offended when we call her a baby.

She is so sweet and gentle giving the baby kisses and hugs when she gets up in the morning and every night before she goes to bed. She sings to my belly on occasion and tells us everything she is going to teach the baby when it gets here.

Mary Margo is very excited about this new venture in her little world. She is going to be a GREAT big sister. And even though I get a little sad when I think about her not being my baby any more, I am very excited as well to watch her and the baby grow to be the best of friends.

As for the pictures, I had a good friend come over and take them. I just had to capture the sweet moment. Will they be framed on the walls, NO! Just tucked away in the baby books as precious memories of my baby girl blossoming into a big sister.
